Excuses For Skipping
is a post-punk quartet from San Francisco, California. Linda Moody's soaring vocals play out against her own distinct style of sheet metal and bike frame percussion and rhythm guitar riffs.Tammy Fortin's lead guitar stabs and Wendy Brents' heavy bass melodies combine to create a compelling texture that commands the room with the first note.

Now, they release their second album, Tonic For Hysteria, produced by Gregg Marks. Tonic For Hysteria was ranked #1 in nominations for Deli Magazine's "Year End Best Of SF" poll for emerging artists". Excuses for Skipping’s high energy, live performance has generated a loyal following both locally and beyond, as they are known for an intense live show that is both unpredictable and inspired. Their solid following was exemplified by their recent sold out performance at the Tonic For Hysteria local release show at San Francisco's Cafe Du Nord.

History:
In 2007, Excuses For Skipping released their critically acclaimed full-length album, Out Of Work Early produced by Tony Espinoza (New Order, Robin Gutherie of Cocteau Twins,Thom York of Radiohead and The Shins) and Gregg Marks (Jason Mraz, May I Be Frank) The LA Music Awards nominated the song Gravity as "Best Single Of The Year.”
